Dr. Michael Tully

Michael qualified with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Leeds and is a registered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland. Prior to this, Michael completed a Higher Diploma in Psychology and a Masters in Psychological Science in University College Dublin where he was awarded a scholarship from the Irish Research Council to study the relationship between mental health and homelessness. Michael has presented his research at national and international research conferences, written on the topic and acted as a guest reviewer for an international journal. He has also lectured on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in UCD in the field of intellectual disability.

Michael works in partnership with ARC Speech and Language Clinic to provide a child psychology general advice clinic, through which he offers 1 hour consultation sessions (€100 per session) to parents who may have concerns about issues such as bed-wetting, sleep patterns, behaviour, anxiety or other childhood difficulties.

Michael has experience of providing a range of psychological services to both children and adults including assessments and therapy. He has worked with children, adolescents and young adults with a wide range of difficulties, from behaviours which can be challenging to complex mental health presentations. He has a specific interest in working with children who are displaying emotional and/or behavioural difficulties in school or at home.

Michael currently divides his time between working for a leading charity for people with intellectual disabilities and private work, as well as continuing to develop his own skills in therapeutic interventions and consultancy.

Dr. Michael Coughlin

Dr. Michael Coughlin is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who achieved his BA in Psychology at Trinity College Dublin before completing his Masters in Psychological Science at National University of Ireland, Galway. He obtained his Doctorate Qualification at the University of Glasgow. He worked for 8 years in the NHS in Scotland in a variety of child and adult services before returning to work in the private sector in Ireland.

Dr Coughlin is committed to person centered care and to providing high quality evidence-based clinical practice. He is passionate about the importance of the early identification and intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder.

Dr Coughlin works in partnership with ARC Speech and Language Therapists to provide multi-disciplinary ASD diagnostic assessments and post-diagnostic therapies and interventions for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder.

Dr Coughlin has extensive experience and expertise in the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders and ADHD and in providing child and family therapeutic interventions. He has a particular interest in providing psychological therapy for associated mental health difficulties (e.g. anxiety and depression) in children and adults with autism spectrum disorder. Dr Coughlin has experience in delivering both the Parents Plus and the Incredible Years Parenting Programme  He was the principal Investigator in the Parents Plus Middle Years programme that resulted in publication in a peer reviewed Journal (Journal of Clinical Child Psychology and Psychiatry, 2009, 14 (4), 541-58).

He is professionally registered with the Psychological Society of Ireland  (registration number M88 10R) and has full professional indemnity insurance.
